A Tangled Affair

I (we) went back and forth on the theme for Zoey’s 3rd birthday.  I started out with My Little Pony earlier in the fall, but once I got on Etsy to look for invitations and paper products, I kept coming across cute Tangled invitations.  I showed it to Zoey and she wanted a Rapunzel party.  So I texted DeAnne to ask her if she could do the tower from Tangled instead.  After Zoey said she wanted a Rapunzel party, she said she wanted a Rapunzel tower.  Because my sister is awesome, she said yes, she would figure out what to do. 

I had a lot of fun decorating and planning this one.  It was actually pretty simple too to decorate the house too.  This was Zoey’s first “friend” party.  I was surprised at how quickly the head count increased!  In the end it wasn’t bad and loads of fun!  As Zoey gets older, we will be having “half birthday” parties in the summer where the kids can be outside instead of everyone cramped inside.

I served all the food in frying pans.  We had Pacal’s Puffs (cheese puffs), Hairstacks (haystacks), Flynn’s fruit, sausage balls, and cheese & crackers.

Oh the cake!  It honestly deserves it’s own separate post, but my sister truly is the most amazing sister EVER!  The cake was AWESOME! The pictures do not do it’s justice.  I wish you all could have seen it in person.  It took me a good solid week after the party before I could bring myself to throw the tower portion away.

A Dr. Seuss Affair

Today we celebrated Zoey’s birthday!.  This year I decided on a Dr. Seuss theme.  It was actually very easy to decorate this year due to my sister had most of the decorations from a baby shower she hosted.  We had a wonderful celebrating with family and close friends!  Thank you to all who came out!  In just a short few days, I’ll have a sweet two year old!

I used all her Dr. Seuss books as decorations.  I made truffla trees also.

I had two tall ones in the entry way and decorated the banister with mesh ribbon.

The CAKE!  These pictures DO NOT do it justice.  I am so thankfully I have an amazing sister who is talented enough to do this.  And that she is willing to!

She surprised us and knew what to do when it came to blowing out the candles.  She LOVED her cake!

Zoey is very blessed to have a wonderful Aunt in my sister.  Not only did she make an AWESOME cake, she made Zoey an AWESOME book.  I’ll have to take close ups of the book later, but you can see a few of the pages here.  Zoey was so excited when she opened this and saw it.

Zoey’s First Birthday Party

 

I finally feel like sitting down and posting about Zoey’s first birthday party!  I know I’m a bit behind, but I just haven’t had the motivation to do it.  Mostly this will be a photo blog (since that’s where the details are).  Click to get a better view; for some reason they are a tad blurry this small.

We had a small party of just family and a couple close friends.  I’ll admit while I LOVED having everyone here to celebrate with us; it was overwhelming.  I’m so thankfully Daniel, my brother-in-law, took pictures for us.  Otherwise I would not have gotten to enjoy it as much. 

My AWESOME sister did the cakes!  Once again she did an amazing job with all the details.
