Christmas 2014

We had a wonderful, busy Christmas season!  I’ll leave you with highlights and pictures!

We went back to Worthey Tree farm to get our Christmas tree.  This year we went early and picked it out for later pick up.  The Wests went with us.

Nona gave Zoey her doll baby crib that was hers when she was little.  How cool is that!? They found it at Grandmother’s one weekend.

We decorated Christmas cookies for Santa!  This is one of my favorite traditions we have.  I remember doing the same thing when I was a kid and I LOVE that I get to share this with Zoey.

After a long fun day, she passed out on the couch.  Her and Daddy had a date before during the day to finish up Christmas shopping and to give me time to finish up a few last minute things.

Father/Daughter Ball 2014

In June, Brian took Zoey to the Father/Daughter Ball.  This was their first year to go.  They went with 2 other father/daughter couples from church who are roughly the same age as Zoey.  The girls, Zoey, Claire, and Wesley, are in Bible class together so they know each other well.  I knew this would be fun for her to play with her friends.  I do believe they both had a blast! 

The week before the Ball she kept talking about it and was dying to go.  We had to show her about every day on the calendar what day it was today and how many more days till the Ball.  She would say she is Cinderella, Daddy is Prince Charming, and I was a horse. Finally by the time the day arrive, I become the Fairy Godmother.  I got her dressed and she LOVED her dress! Brian actually picked it out for her; he is the BEST!  She never really has twirled in dresses until this one.  I got a few videos of her after she got dressed. I know overload, but she is so CUTE in them!

Several of the princesses were there.  In true Zoey fashion, it took her a bit to warm up to everything.  Brian took a few pictures and sent them to me through out the night.  Oh, did I mention, mothers are not allowed in the building at all during the night.  I find that sweet they want to make it all about the Daddy’s and their girls.

Christmas Tree.

This year we found a Christmas tree farm to go to the pick out our Christmas tree.  I was beyond excited!  We went to Worthey Tree Farm in Amory.  It was perfect.  We stopped on our way back home from the beach.  I cannot wait to go back this year!

Downtown Trick or Treat

The Tuesday, October 29, before Halloween was the Downtown Trick or Treat.  It was great weather for it.  We met up with Chad, Allie, & Collins to walk around a bit.  Zoey was starting to turn into a pumpkin. Taking a good picture of a almost 2 year old and a 1 year old is a hard task!

Year Letters

Sometime last year, I got the idea to write Zoey a letter each year on her birthday.  Well, I didn’t quiet get around to writing it last year, but honestly I didn’t have the stationary and it took me forever to find some I liked.  So today, I finally sat down and wrote her first year letter.  I hope these will be love to her one day as she reads back over them.  I’m not sure when I will give them to her; either on her 18th birthday, high school graduation, or when she gets married.  I guess I’ll just wait and see as each or one of these events comes to life. 

 

While I know it’s not exactly on the year mark, she won’t know…shhhh.  I did only write about things that happened during her first year so that still counts, right?

I hope she will enjoy this new tradition I am setting in place for her.  Maybe one day she will do the same for her babies.
