2 Months!

Sunday Zoey turned 2 months!  It’s hard to be it’s only been 2 months since we were blessed with this little joy.  It feels like she has been here a lot longer and should be older than just 2 months.  While she is 2 months, she is 9 weeks old.

Zoey 2 Month8

Today was her 2 month checkup; and the dreaded shots.  She did well; took a little cat nap after being measured and weighed while waiting on the doctor to come in.  She did not like being checked out AT ALL.  The doctor said she looked great and was doing well.  She now weights 10 lbs 11 oz (a 3 pound gain since her 2 week appointment) and is 22 1/2 inches long (2 1/2 inch growth since her 2 week appointment).  She is right in the middle for her age group; nice and average on height and weight.  She had the first rounds of vaccination; 1 oral and 3 shots.  She loved the oral one, but not so much a fan of the shots.  She calmed down pretty quickly though which was nice.  Compared to the almost blue in the face she was showing us while getting the shots.  Yes, my daughter has a temper and is a breath holder.  Freaks us out at times when she goes for longer than a second or two.  This time she even had the nurse a little freaked out.    Overall she is a very healthy baby.

I’m going to try to start bottle feeding her (still only breast milk) now.  Lately she has been eating about every hour and half to two hours and not any longer.  I thought by feeding this often and pumping in between I would be producing more milk, but I don’t seem to be.  When I do go longer than 2 hours, I produce more milk so we are going to try doing 4 ounces about every 3 and a half to 4 hours to see how it goes.  So far (had her first 4 ounces after the doctor’s visit) she took it great and seems to be going longer (as I type this it’s already been 2.5 hours).  Granted I know right now she is sleepy and all from the shots and Tylenol, but when we have given her 3 ounces in a bottle she goes for about 3 hours between the feedings.  This also will allow me to get her on a better schedule before I go back to work and know how much milk to send with her to Mrs. Hudson’s.

She is doing great with holding her head up more. She almost has it down and ready for the Bumbo seat.  I’ll be glad when she can sit in it so it will give her a little different thing to do.   She’s still not a fan of tummy time, but we are working on it.  She almost turns over when she is really mad.  Oh! I guess the greatest news (for the sanity of Brian) she sleeps about 7 hours at night.  We started giving her a 4 ounce bottle with rice cereal in it at night and she typically sleeps till 5ish.  We started giving her the cereal at 6 weeks due to she was acting like she was hungry a lot more. Which is also when I started feeding her about ever 1.5-2 hours and not feeling like I was producing enough milk.  I feel really good about bottle feeding her milk and knowing how much she is getting.  I already feel like I will still be able to produce enough if not more.  Don’t ask me why, but I just do.

Now for the part all love the most, pictures!

Aww... I love the pic of her on the couch with Brian in his headphones. I really want to meet her. I have been sick the past two weekends and Michael threw his back out yesterday, so I've been taking care of him this weekend. Maybe sometime next month!
