What a week it has been already! Yesterday morning my work computer decided to die on me. It’s only a few months old and it just wouldn’t boot up. The loaner they had did not contain any of the software I need to do my job. So they had to install it yesterday and then still did not get all the software I asked for put on. So now I’m yet again sitting here waiting for software and unable to work. I’m hoping my computer gets fixed soon, like in the next day, but I know that won’t happen.
We had a good weekend. Friday after work, we headed downtown to the Chilli Fest. It was a blast! It was perfect weather for eating tons of chilli; and we did just that! We did not sample all 40 enteries but came close to it. We both got great ideas on how to make our chilli even better. Also Brian found out that he won a new HDTV from work! How cool is that! It's a 22" flat screen. We have decided to put it in our room and get rid of one that is in there now. Saturday we spent the day doing projects around the house and enjoying the sun! We decided not to go to the game Saturday since it was a late game. Sunday we celebrated Brian’s grandmother’s 80th birthday. She thought she was just coming up to have lunch with us, but instead everyone was there. We had everyone over after lunch for cake. I made a Peter Paul Mound cake. It was a hit with everyone! The rest of the afternoon was spent vegging.
The game this week is going to be COLD!!! The high is listed as 54 right now. I’m happy to know that my new coat will be here tomorrow so I will have it for Saturday, now to dig out the gloves too.

The Mounds Cake sounds fantastic! Did you take any photos of it?
I completely forgot to take a picture of it. But here's the jist of it. Chocolate cake, each layer cut in half then layer the cake with a filling of melted marshmellows, cream, sugar and coconut. Then ice the cake with this to-die-for chocolate icing. I'll post the recipe for the cake tomorrow!
Where was the Chili fest? Sounds delicious - I have been craving a good bowl of chili lately. So happy for cooler weather all over the south. Hope you have a better week - sounds like all of your electronics are on the blink (computer and tivo)!!
Katie, Chilli Fest was downtown Tupelo. There was too many chillis to choose from and some good ones. Ones made with smoked brisket, currey, bbq pork, smoked pork, etc. My favorite was one that had mashed up peaches. It gave it a sweet taste on the front end, but then a spicy taste on the back end.
