Update:
Apparently our guy Mullen, who's a vice chancellor of some sort handed it to him backstage, and after asking one of his attorneys if he could legally (and not being smeared for it) accept it, he gratefully accepted with a hearty "Thank you." He likes it enough he uses it as his bag for his personal belongings when traveling.
