Warning: Rant

Is it wrong for me to want to be able to come into my work place and not get sick by the smell of smoke? Yes I know it’s your right to smoke (which you are only killing yourself and others around you), but it’s my right too not to have to smell it. Somehow when we moved cubes back in December I got stuck in the middle of our 3 biggest smokers. Now when the people around you go on smoke breaks at least every 15 minutes you start to really smell it. To add to this, I’m right by the door they smoke at! So when you leave or go over near the printer you get a nice big whiff of it. While most probably wouldn’t understand it, it’s the stale smoke smell that is one thing I have learned that triggers my migraines. As the day goes on the smell just get worse. Now my question is…is it wrong for me to complain about this to someone here? I’m not asking people to stop smoking (now granted I wish I could) at work, but just don’t do it by the door over here. Now that we have our new worthless building built (that is another rant for another day) there is a nicer patio area in the back of the building (away from me) that I feel people should have to go to smoke. Since Oxford went smoke-free 2 years ago I am no longer around smokers much. I have started to become more sensitive to it than I was before. It just seems like a work place should be smoke free. If you want to smoke do it at home away from people who do not want to be inhaling your second-hand smoke.

Ha... I'm afraid there are too many smokers in our building to get away from them all. Yay for lung cancer eh?

It's not too bad back here now, considering that we used to be the group that was known for smoking.

Yep, Allergy season has been bad this time around. Even smoke breath can make it worse.
