Earth Day

Ok, well I just realize that I’m a bad aunt. I had it on my to-do list to call Lauren yesterday to wish her a happy birthday and I let it slip my mind. I was at the party Saturday, but I always like to call them on their birthdays.

The weekend was good. I’m really excited about making my quilt. The colors I picked out are brown and blue. Don’t know how well you can see, but here is a picture of all the colors. I really really wish I could have found different Tiffany blues and Chocolate browns. Those are 2 of my favorite colors. I have the first block cut out and hoping tonight I can set up my sewing machine and piece it together. I may have to have mom email me the next one so I can cut it out and piece it. We will see.

This weekend is going to be BUSY. Friday night I have a rehearsal dinner in Tupelo. I’m not part of the wedding, but they have invited out of town guest to the dinner. Brian and I don’t really consider ourselves out of town guest, but we hate not to go since they did think to invite us. The wedding is at 10:30 Saturday morning. This is good and bad. Bad because I think it will be a traditional Catholic ceremony, which means it will last up to an hour long or more. Good because we should if all goes well be back in Oxford no later than 1:00 for Double Decker! Brian at first was making fun of me because when I found out when Tommy and Rachel were getting married I was upset due to it was Double Decker weekend. Then as soon as he found out some of the bands playing he was all ready to go and said we would go and make a presence at the reception and head back to Oxford. Funny how things work that way. :)

Today is Earth Day. I wish I had more time to go out and do something for it. But every day really should be Earth day. I have taken to recycling everything I can. I know have cardboard stacked in places just waiting for another trip to the recycling place. I never really noticed how many items come in cardboard boxes. Scary how we don’t really think of these things.
