This Memorial Day was superb. My parents came in town for the long weekend. I was looking forward to seeing them since it had been about a month or more since I had seen them last. Saturday after waking up WAY too early, I read while I waited on them to arrive. We went to see the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End matinee. We were all a little disappointed in it. The first two movies were better. Mom was not happy about the ending (I won't comment as to spoil it for those who have not seen it), but it did leave it open for another one. For dinner we headed out to Taylor. Dad loves this place just about as much as I do, so we normally go out there for one meal. Being stuff didn't leave for much more to do, so we went home to watch movies.
Sunday was a typical Sunday for ya. We went to church, Dad watched the golf tournament, I read/napped, and Mom crossed-stitch/napped. Sunday night after church, we bummed around and watched one of Dad's favorite movies, My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
Monday, I had planned on grilling out hamburgers/hot dogs since it was Memorial Day. I had asked Mom to bring the ice cream freezer so we could have homemade ice cream but she forgot to mention it to Dad. That's OK, we had regular ice cream.
All weekend, I read. I'm trying to read all the Harry Potter books before July 21st. I finished the first one this weekend and now am about halfway through the second; should finish it tonight. My sister gave me this idea when she was in town two weeks ago. I have no worries about reading them all before then.
Yesterday afternoon after my parents left, I got the urge to put together a puzzle. I believe this urge came about after watching How It's Made Marathon on the Science channel and seeing how they make 3D puzzles. So off to Wally World I go to pick up a puzzle. There wasn't a good selection, but I did come across a gorgeous one of Cinderella's Grand Arrival. There are three in this series so far, but I only found two of them. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed putting together puzzles. Granted I didn't get very far last night, but hey, I have all the time to do this.
I will post a picture of the finished product when I finally finish it. I hope everyone has a great short work week!
