Friday Night Lights

The air was crispy, the lights bright, and the temperature just right; for high school football. My alma mater have been in the playoffs for Regional, then State finals. Friday night I decided to attend the game with my dad. I was looking forward to it. This was going to be a big game and a good one at that.

I was also suppose to go with some friends, but decided I did not want to set in the Student section where they had planned on sitting--being teachers, they feel the need to support the students. I instead went with my dad to sit in the Reserve section.

Attending the game brought back lots of memories and feelings from years ago. It has been years since I have attended a game. I was surrounded by people I attended to high school with. Some I was glad to see, others I could have cared less about. The atmosphere of the game was still the same as always--football is a big tradition and importance at my alma mater. Some things were still the same as always, and other things were added. I wish I had taken some pictures, but the ones I took were too dark to see anything. I really need to get a new camera. Unfortunately, they decided to give the game away. With 4 minutes left in the game, they failed to intersect a pass, which resulted in two defensive linemen tipping it but not knocking it down and the offensive lineman catching it and scoring a touchdown. That was the play that lost the game, but then with 1:30 left in the game, they allowed the opposing team to score another touchdown. It was a sad end to a great game. The best part was the fact that the team they would more than likely had to play if they won, ended up losing as well.

After the game, I met up with my friends and headed to the Huddle House. I know doesn't sounds like much, but we decided to act like the local high school students and go. I don't think I have laughed that hard in so long. Sonya's students were looking at us like we were crazy--I'm sure this makes a good impression on them. It was good just to catch up and act a little insane.
