A little milestone

I have been trying to improve myself on many different levels. I know I have not been the right type of person or Christian as I should. I am over coming some stumbling blocks I have had for sometime. I really wish I have been more active in the church over the past years. I am ashame that I have been attending the church here in Oxford for going on my 7th year now, and I feel I am still a visitor or stranger. I hate that feeling. The reasons do not matter anymore, what matters is I want to become more involved. The past month, the lessons at church have sort of hit home for me.

I'm excited about the coming week. It will begin the Girls' group on Monday night. I'm hosting the group at my house. I'm looking forward to having everyone in my home and getting to know them. I hope everyone shows up and learns from the studying and teachings. I enjoyed the group we had going on a few years back. I know I learned a good deal from the others in the group.

On a more wonderful note, my dad went back to two of his doctors last week after almost 3 months after his last treatment. Both where very pleased with his results and continuing health. His plastic surgeon does not want to see him again until the first of the year, but he said his nose looked good and you can't even tell he had anything done unless you know. His chemo dr (I think it was this one or the radioation one) was pleased as well. She couldn't believe that he had been back to work now for almost 2 months (I can't either, but it has really helped him gain his strength back and lifts his spirits). He is schedule to see the eye dr (for those who do not know, this was the dr that requested the mri and how we discovered the cancer had spread into the nerves in his face) next month due to he is amazed that Daddy's eye is back to normal.

All the doctors involved in his case have been surprised to learn he is well and honestly still here. I'm very thankful that Daddy is well and continuing to work toward remission, but at the same time, I'm thankful that this happen and they did treatment on him because now hopefully his case will help others who have this type of cancer get treatment. (Normally when the cancer is in the nasel cavities, no treatment is done due to the location. Radiation and chemo in the past have not had any effect, so it was no done. Surgery is out of the case as well due to all the reconstruction surgery needed afterwards. ) The one doctor that told him he wouldn't live past 6 months of finding out has been amazed at this and is publishing his case. I'm thrilled about this and not wait to read the paper. We still have a long road ahead of us, but it's a great start.

Hope all have a great weekend!
