6 Months!!!

Wow! I cannot believe my baby girl is 6 months! Granted it still feels like
she should be older and time is creeping by, but it’s a little bittersweet to
me. This little stinker is the love of our lives and joy! I knew I would love
her so much, but man, it’s so hard to describe how much you do love your child.

She now weighs 16lb 1oz and is 27 inches long. In the past month she has learned a lot. She reaches for just about EVERYTHING now.  She finally figured out that if she rolls over from back to tummy to back she will get places. Still not a huge roller, but she getting there. I have noticed that she does it more when we are not looking.  I’ll come into the room and she has rolled around.  She has started to turn around in her sleep.  Not sure how she does it, but she does. We still swaddle her so I’m not sure how she does it without arms out and feet out. But on many morning we find her like this.

She has learn to sit up on her own. She would much rather be standing,
but at least now she can sit and play instead of laying down. She is still a little wobbly, but she is getting there.  Today was the first time I was able to get a picture of her sitting up.  I wish we could get her to do tummy time so she would crawl, but she still does not like being on her tummy.

We finally had to break down and get a real high chair. Thanks, Sage for the
suggested one!! We love it. It was getting to a point where when we would sit
her in the bouncy seat to feed her she would try to get out and end up making a
mess.  She looks so little sitting it in! Brian made the mistake of rolling her around the kitchen in it the first time we put her in it and when he stopped she cried.  As soon as he started again she started laughing.  What a stinker!!  We also started to introduce the sippy cup to her.  She’s not a fan of water, but today we were told we could give her a little juice.  Maybe that will get her to use the sippy cup better.

She had her first weekend alone with her Daddy. I went on our annual Girls’
Weekend this past weekend. Brian already is super dad, so this was nothing for
him. I felt HORRIBLE since it was Father’s Day weekend, but I’m not used to
checking for that so when we planned it, I didn’t notice. Brian, of course, is
the best and didn’t mind. But I made up for it!!   He also took her to her first birthday party.  My sweet husband is the best father.  He is such a hands on dad!  He has done things I have yet to do alone, like give Zoey a bath.  I’m not sure how he does it since I can’t figure out how to get her out of the tub and in the towel by myself with her not sitting up alone yet.  It never fails that she has a diaper explosion after I have left in the morning.

Of course while I was gone she took a 2 hour nap in her bed on a Saturday.

Zoey & her Daddy on Father’s Day.  I’m so glad Nona got a good picture of them!

A few more random pictures from the past month.

I need to get cracking on doing thing for her First birthday party. I know
it’s still 6 months away, but I have so much to do and it’s during the holidays
so I must start now!!
It’s amazing how much she has changed since she was born!  I made a collage of her monthly pictures up until now.  She’s such a cutie!!!
