Ok, so I’m soooo far behind on blogging. I just don’t seem to have enough time in the day to do everything.
Sweet Zoey turned 4 months on April 19th. A lot has happened in the past month. A week after turning 3 months, she rolled over for the first time, stomach to back. She doesn’t care too much still for being on her stomach, but she is getting better about it. Main reason is she is trying her best to figure out how to get up on her knees and crawl. If she could figure that out, she would be so happy. She loves to stand up; really would do that all the time if we let her. She has gotten much better at sitting in the Bumbo seat and loves to do that now instead of sitting in the bouncy seat. (I’ll share an interesting fact about the bouncy seat in a bit.)
At her 4 month doctor appointment she was a champ, until the shots. She weighs 14lbs 2oz and is 26.25 inches long. I already am accepting the fact she will be taller than me at some point. She will be taking after Brian on the height. She is the happiest baby; rarely cries unless she is just really hungry or fighting sleep. Both are not that often so we typically have a very happy baby on our hands. She still sleeps like a champ. I’m not quite ready yet to put her to bed around 7ish so she sleeps on one of us from about 7 to 9 then takes her last bottle and sleeps till 6. Weekends we let her sleep till whenever which is typically 7ish.
We started feeding her rice cereal from the spoon last week and she is doing well. I think she would get the hang of eating better if she liked the food; not really a fan of the cereal. I did switch to oatmeal cereal this week and she seems to like it a tad better. The doctor gave us the go ahead to start her on baby food as soon as she seems to be handling eating from the spoon. I’m thinking in the next week or so we can start introducing foods. We need to figure out what to use as a high chair, not that we really have room for one.
Last weekend was her first weekend away from us. Brian and I went to Richmond for a wedding and my parents kept her. We missed her dearly, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I actually missed her more when we were at home without her than when we were up in Richmond. I guess we were too busy to let that come into play up there. She started to hold her bottle some on her own while she was at Granny’s. She’s getting so big!!!
Fun Zoey fact:
About a month ago we figured out how to get her to go poopie at least once a day. How crazy is it that this what my life has become, talking about my kid’s pooping schedule. Well, Zoey will only go if she is sitting down, in the bouncy seat. It is the craziest thing ever. We thought it was just due to that was her time of day, but we have put her in it in the mornings and she will go. Only way she will go more than once a day. Silly little girl! Maybe this means she will be easy to potty train when that dreaded time comes.
Enjoy a few random shots of Miss Zoey!
