Snow Day 2011

Sunday,as I know everyone is aware, snow was in the forecast!  As we are used to living in the South, we do not honestly believe we will get as much as forecast. This round was 8-10 inches!!  Brian and I do not buy into the whole “let’s-freak-out-and-run-out-and-buy-milk-bread-meat-etc” mood like everyone around us seems to.  I will say, Friday night when we headed to the store to get ingredients to make Chipotle Turkey Chicken for Sunday lunch the shelves were already bare.  I would hate to think what they looked like by Sunday afternoon.  I honestly did not believe it would really snow, so I was thrilled when it started to really come down!

Here are few of our snow day pictures!  We got up and played out in it around 7ish Monday morning.

I cannot believe it has snowed so much there this winter! Crazy! What happened to the days when it snowed once every 10 years?! Hmmm... Maybe it was different in mid mississip.

Casey, it is definitely different down here. We haven't seen a single flake here in central Mississippi.

I am so jealous that I missed out on 8 inches. I remember getting that much in the mid-80s when I lived in Hernando. I'll never forget how much fun sledding is.

I'm with you ladies! I remember back in Alabama when it snowed this much in the late 80s early 90s and we were out of school for about a week (which is what most schools in this area have been out). I was thinking about it this week, in the past few years it has snowed at least a little each year.
