4th of July

I do believe 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays!  I generally love all holidays, but some are more fun and special than others.

This year we headed to my parents house for the weekend.  Friday night, my Mom,sister, and I went to dinner and Eclipse together while Brian and Dad went to dinner as well.  Saturday was great!  Mom cooked a big breakfast for us all (DeAnne, Daniel, and the girls came over too).  We spent the day playing with the girls and Sam (I want him.).  The weather was PERFECT!  It was in the mid-80s with very low humidity.  Brian and I picked up a few fireworks for the night.  Emma and Lauren finally came around and loved doing sparklers.  I would have sparklers every night if I had the chance.  I do love playing with them.  Sunday we headed back home and had Rachel and Tommy over for fish tacos.  I know it’s not very “American” but we all had burger/hotdogs/steaks the day before so we opted for something different.  Yesterday I put a coat of paint on the guest bedroom doors.  I’m almost finished with that room!  Brian had to do a little work from home then we headed to the pool for the rest of the afternoon.

I wish I had the pictures my Mom took of us doing sparklers, but I do have one special picture of Emma.  You notice the red dot in the middle of her forehead, weeeeell Brian and I were playing with “adult” pop caps with the girls.  We told them to make sure they threw them away from themselves due to these tend to “spray” particles back at you.  Emma didn’t throw one as far as she should have and the red dot is a result of it.  I was a little worried at first that it hit her eye since she stopped and was holding her eye, but she was a trooper and didn’t cry and went back to playing with them.    Emma & red dotI tried to get better pictures of Sam, but as soon as I would click the button to take the picture he would move.  He is a cutie!!  I wouldn’t mind having a little guy like him.

He was worn out by the end of the night.  He never stopped moving until right before we started to do fireworks.Sam7

I marked off another project last week.  I LOVE garlands.  I made a 4th of July flag garland for the mantle.
