What a week it has been! I’m very thankful this is a short week. Work has been busy and I have been battles slight migraines all week (since last Friday actually). I guess it’s mainly due to I been skipping the chiro for a few weeks and now I’m paying for it. I’m looking forward to a relaxing evening tonight and a fun weekend ahead.
So, as the title of the post says, I’m wondering about knives. I have a set, but they are not very good ones and I end up using my two random knives most of the time instead of those. I’m now on a mission…start buying good knives periodically. I honestly do not know that much about different brands of knives and what is the best, so this is where you come in. What type of knives do you have and use most often? I honestly just use a chef, paring, and bread knife majority of the time. I also prefer a straight edge verse serrated edge.
Elvis Fest starts tomorrow! Brian and I are only planning on going tomorrow night to see Robert Earl Keen. Should be a fun night all around. Hopefully I will remember to take pictures.

We have Wustof (sp?). We bought a set on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond and we love them. We thought we might want to go fancier (we looked at Viking, and some other brands) but no need, as the Wustof does the job. Have fun on your search. If you find a kitchen store that sales more than one brand, sometimes they will demonstrated and tell you the difference between them. That was nice for us. Oh, and we mainly use the Chef's, bread, and paring as well.
I use my chef's knife all the time, and I love it! We received a set of Henkles Professional from my Dad as a wedding gift. He got them from Bed Bath and Beyond. I love them! As long as I hone the blade regularly they stay in great shape.
We have the Wusthof steak knives and they are fabulous! And like Lisa we have the Henkles as our every day 'sharp' knives. BUT... you can't just go say I want a Henkle knive. You want the two man Henkle knives...which may be the professional? (They have two little men on the emblem) Also, you want to get their Henkle (two man) sharpner because something about their blade on other sharpeners doesn't do well. All this came from Bed Bath & Beyond but our Wustof knives were a wedding gift.
Hope that helps??
Rachel - yep that is exactly what I have. the "twin" Henkle knives.
