Back to reality

After a WONDERFUL vacation last week (which I’ll post about later tonight), we had to head back to the reality of the work week. I had good intentions to post about the vacation while we were there, but I just didn’t feel like it. Then I had plans to post today about it, but I had already dumped the pictures from the camera onto our laptop. So today I’ll just catch up on everything else that has been going on.

Thursday after arriving back in town, we headed to the Wine Downtown event put on by the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association. This hands down has been one of my(our) favorite events. Kudos to those in charge; very well organized and laid out event! I really hope this will be an annual event or even bi-annual. It was great being able to visit a few of the downtown stores I never get to go in. I even picked up a few items while visiting.

The first item is the sandals below. bcshoe Each pair of shoes is made of recycled rice bags; no 2 pairs are alike. They are by a brand called BC Footwear. Surprisingly they are super comfortable. I had to get a size 7 due to they tend to run a size bigger than what you normally wear. (Bigger, right? I normally wear a 6.) I also picked up a cool t-shirt that Brian spotted for me. Of course I forgot to grab the tag off it to look up the company, so I don’t have a picture of it. It’s made from organic materials and has on the design “Prevent Resource Wars Renew, Recycled, Conserve.“ I thought it was a cool shirt.

Friday night we had a couples baby shower for Erik and Tia. The weather held off nicely for the shower. Both, Erik and Tia, loved the baby blanket I knitted for them. I thought the sailboats were very fitting for them.

We were bums the rest of the weekend. With the weather being yucky it was perfect to just veg. I did do some crafting Saturday and Sunday. I finished the first baby blanket I started over a year ago (I always said the first one I did was going to be for me even if I didn’t have a use for it yet. Well, I started it first, but finished it last.) I played with my Cricut it a lot on Sunday cutting out some Christmas decorations and gift ideas. I’m loving my Cricut more each time I use it. I was in the mood to sew, but I couldn’t find my ruler that I needed to cut out some coasters. I will make these little coasters at some point!
