Spicing it up alittle bit.

I thought I would do something fun and different on this rainy Friday. Since I would rather be in my cozy chair reading a book, I’ll do a book review. Not sure how well this will be but I’ll try it.

About a month ago or little less I read Greg Iles’s new book, The Devil’s Punchbowl. I’m already a HUGE Iles fan and try to get just about anyone to read his books. For those of you who do not know, Iles is a native Mississippi, Natchez, and currently still resides there. Majority of his books are set in Natchez or parts of Mississippi. The Devil’s Punchbowl brings back my favorite character (and most others too) Penn Cage as he is now mayor of Natchez. Without giving too much away to those who might not have read it yet; Iles addresses the riverboat casinos and “politics” surrounding. Iles brings to life ideas that many of us choose to ignore or just do not want to believe happens in any place that has casinos, Vegas, MS, Atlantic City, etc. This is in my opinion the most graphic book Iles has written, but it’s all has some truth to it. Iles stated before releasing the novel that this would be the last “Penn Cage” book, but he leaves it too open for me to believe this is the end for Penn or just does it to make me mad.  Hmm, not very good of a “review” but more of a just read the book. But seriously is a great book, one of his best!
