Getting there.

Yesterday I begin painting the doors and front of the drawers of the cabinets in the kitchen. I finally found a good way to get the hinges off the doors that have been painted over (yes, I’m not joking when I said that everything in the house has been painted). Paint thinner wasn’t doing the trick so I took a knife and jab (yes jab) out the paint from the screws. That has seemed to work well; I just needed a way to get the screwdriver to stay in. I almost have one of the bottom sections of the cabinets done. I’m hoping to finish up tonight and start on the trim in that section. I’m also hoping my plans for the kitchen will look ok. I’m doing this one section first so I can see. Since our cabinets are built into the wall (you can’t really tell where they start and end) I’m only painting the front of drawers and doors white and the rest all the same. So we will have green (restful) walls and white doors. I’m very anxious to see how this looks. This weekend Brian’s parents are coming to help since they will not be able to come next weekend with Mom and Dad come to help.

The weekend was good. Saturday we were suppose to start painting the kitchen, but it was POURING and we just decided to stay in bed all day and watch movies.
