Now that I finally have a minute, I’ll give a recap of the weekend. Several people are hurting from the daylight savings change, I’m hurting due to I didn’t get a weekend. I had two bridal shower/teas this weekend. Saturday morning Nona and I drove to my aunt’s house for my family shower. Here is where I got my surprises, see below. The chifforobe is amazing! I have always wanted on, but seemed like everyone else got them from either side of the family. So Mom surprised me with this. The pictures do not do it justice. My uncle and his son-in-law did a wonderful job on it. The wood is from my Granddaddy’s barn that I grew up playing in. This means so much to me to have a part of my childhood and family in it. You cannot buy this quality of furniture anymore. Everything is done by hand; you should see the claw feet up close. The shelves on each side have false bottoms to put things in. How cool is that! I had a feeling, or I hoped, that DeAnne would cross-stitch me something for the wedding. She did a wonderful job on this too. Oh, did I mention that at our first shower she gave me an IOU for a wedding scrapbook. Here’s a little fun trivia about her picture. She started this back in July before Brian and I were engaged and picked out the blue before we even had our house or colors. It matches perfectly in our bedroom. I can’t wait to hang it up in there!
Sunday was the tea from the church I grew up in. It was so sweet. Mrs. Woodard had her house painted just for this, how crazy is that. Granted it wasn’t JUST for this, but the tea was a great excuse to get it done now. Not that her house needed it (her house is the cleanest house you will ever see, including the garage), but it looked great. We got so many lovely gifts. After the shower and we got the car loaded (to the top) with all the gifts, Nona and I headed back to Tupelo.
While I was attending all the showers, Brian was in the ‘Ham for his bachelor party. From what I have heard, sounds like they had a great time and managed to stay out of trouble too. It’s now less than 40 days till our wedding! Time is ticking by and I can’t wait!!!!
PS: If anyone is interested, my uncle said he would take orders for chifforobes.
