New hobbies

I have been thinking about what types of crafts/hobbies I want to either continue and improved my skills or learn to do. Currently two of my main hobbies are cross-stitching and knitting. Now cross-stitching I have been doing for years. I have always enjoyed this and always find new projects I want to do. Knitting I picked up a couple of years ago. I have only finished a couple of projects, scarves, but want to learn more. In my stocking this past year was a knitting magazine of gifts. I would love to knit gifts for friends this year; with that said I need to start now!

One hobby I want to pick up is quilting. I have been mentioning this for a couple of years now that I want to learn, but the time just never seems to come. There is something about going into a fabric store and seeing all those colorful bolts of fabric that makes me want to quilt. I start seeing colors and patterns I want to use. I think (mom correct me if I’m wrong) it would be easier if I started with a small quilt, like a baby quilt. I have plenty of friends that are now married that in a few years will be having kids so this might be a nice gift I can do for my close friends. Plus the first one I can just keep for myself for the future. So with that said, Mom you get to help me when I don’t know, but we will have to see. I would love in addition to quilting is learn to sew. Now mom I know is falling over since growing up she always tried to get DeAnne and I to learn how. I guess it take a few years for us to realize that it might be fun.

Now the question I ask myself. How will I have time to do all this? I feel like now I’m running out of time at times. I know I need to manage my time a little better, but there are times when I get home from work that I do not want to do anything. I know if I get back in the habit of going to the gym after work it will give me more energy.

You can start by knitting that scarf I've been waiting on for two years. :)
