Books and more books.

This year one of my “goals” was to read at least 50 books. I think I can do this. As I’m writing this, I’m trying to count up how many I have read already. I think I’m around 6. I know that doesn’t sound like much, but some of the ones I have read are not easy reads. Lately I’m getting on a kick of reading mystery novels. I love Greg Iles who writes great thrillers/suspense novels based in Mississippi and recommend his books to anyone who loves suspense novels. I was looking last week for some books to read (not that I need any new books until I read all the ones I have already, but I just can’t help looking and picking up a new one) and decided to add the James Patterson novels to my list. I was in Tupelo Saturday afternoon and picked up the first one in the series, 1st to Die. Yesterday was a gorgeous day, but still a little chilly. So I cuddle up on the couch and read. It has been a while since I read a book in a day. It was an easy read and page turner. Now I wish I had picked up the next one as well. But alas I do have about a list of 25 books to read as it is. I tend to take turns reading a mystery/thriller to a classic/fiction book so I don’t get in a runt and just read the same things. I started reading The Death of Sweet Mister. Not sure what I think of this yet, it’s a little odd. Before that I read Waltzing at the Piggly Wiggly. I really enjoyed that one. I can’t wait to get the next one, Kissing Babies at the Piggly Wiggly.

Sorry for the rambling, I have books on the brain I guess.
