This week has not turned out like I was hoping. I had plans to bake Christmas goodies each night so Friday I could make little goodie bags for my co-workers. Well, that didn't go as plan due to I got sick. Thankfully I didn't get full blown sick and am feeling much better today, but Tuesday I had no energy and all I wanted to do was lay around. Yesterday I decided I wanted to nip this in the bud before it got worse, so off to the dr. I go. He didn't think I had anything major, so he gave me a steroid shot to clear up the mild fluid I had in my ears (which I don’t know is any better, but I’m not spacey feeling anymore nor a headache and sore throat). Well, I completely forgot that steroids keep me awake most of the day and night. I didn’t get much sleep last night even with the pain pill I took for my throat in hopes it would knock me out. When I got home from work I had all these energy, that before services last night I baked Puppy Chow (which I had completely forgotten about until I was looking at the family cookbook and saw it!) and Russian Tea Mix. I was going to make Chocolate Chip Bonbons after church but decided I’ll do it tonight along with Cinnamon Bars, Spoon Cookies, and possible Boiled Cookies.
I know next week Dad and I will make the Chex mix we make each year. If I had big enough bowls to mix it in and pans to bake it in I would do it this week, but alas Mom has the stuff I need. I did realize last night I need to get a big bowl like the yellow one or the stainless steel one she has to mix the puppy chow in.
I’m so ready for this week to be over with so I will be off till the New Year. Work is slow this time of year so the days go by slooooooow. There is only so much you can look at on the internet (and it’s worse at the office due to our VERY slow network).
Everyone mark your calendars to January 8th! Turn into Wheel of Fortune that night to watch a friend of mine, Deborah, on the show.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!
