Hope

This week has been one I do not care to relive. Work has been slow, having to say goodbye to a friend who's time it was not yet, being sick, and just life.

Last night at church in our women's class we were talking about hope. We are in the process of getting the new books for our class, so in the meantime we are talking about different topics. We put hope in almost everything related to our lives. During our discussion we talked about how we put hope in the wrong things and how it affects our life and our walk with God. I know there are times (many times) when I have put hope in the wrong things instead of always in God. Once passage we looked at was Romans 5:1-5. This hit home after this week. In order to have hope, we must have troubles, suffering, and stand fast. As we suffer we grow closer to Christ and God as He leads us into a safe place.

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:1-5

This past Wednesday, I really expected Brian to walk into class without a word. We're all going to miss him.
