This week I have a lot on my mind. Mostly about how stupid our government is. Here are a few things that have been bothering me this week.
1. Oil prices. Bush is doing nothing to help Americans with the increasing gas prices. Today on CNN Senators are proposing to give taxpayers a $100 rebate check to help with high gas prices. While this is a nice gesture, that's all it is a gesture. Most Americans pay more than $100 in gas a month. If we were to receive this rebate check every month, yes it might help a little, very little that is. Bush doesn't care about the people, he is an oil man himself and loves raking in the cash from the high prices. Put a cap on prices and have the oil companies lower the price in gas. They have already made way over enough for the year. Let them go without a paycheck for a little while to help pay back what others give them. If gas prices continue to raise, and no public transportation is availible how are we suppose to get to and from work to pay for the gas we have to purchase to be able to work and support our family.
2. Children under 15/16 who have cell phones. This has been a sore subject with me since, oh probably when cell phones became cheap and popular. No child who does not drive or date should have a cell phone. When I was growing up, yes my parents worried about me, but until I started driving, they knew where I was and who I was with when I was not with them. I didn't have a cell phone, they just knew. Why does a child of 7 or 8 need a cell phone? No reason at all. They do not date--if they do, then that is a whole other issue I will jump on--so the parent should trust and know where they child is with and who. A coworker of mine stated yesterday h is 7-year-old had a cell phone. I'm sorry, but yes, I did go off on him for that. I was told that I didn't have children so I have no room to talk. I know I do no have any children, but I have nieces who are like my own and cousins and other close friends. This is just like parents who allow their 11-13 year-old daughters dress like Britteny Spears or some other teen pop star. No daughter of mine would ever live the house looking like some I see around. What has become of good morals and practices? I am very thankful my parents taught me well.
3. Cell phone providers. So this is just really more of me frustrated because I couldn't get the phone I wanted yesterday. If I want a new phone, I should not have to wait till my upgrade if I'm going to continue my service with you. My phone is a piece of crap now. The battery does not stay charge very long now, it just cuts off when it feels like it, and other stupid stuff like that. I venture to my lovely provider in hopes that I will be bringing home with me a new Razr. Boy was I wrong. I was told since I was not able to get my upgrade until October, the cheapest phone would be $250. That was crap. Whatever happened to the phones that were free or under $50 for people in this situation. I was told I would be paying over $300 for the Razr phone I wanted. I asked if I could get my upgrade early since I do not mind renewing my contract. If I wait till October for my upgrade, the phone will only be $100 after rebates. That is crap. Why should you pentalies customers who want to renew their contract early?
I hope no one was too annoyed by my soapbox. I just needed to get a few things off my chest. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I so agree about cell phones and providers. I'm in the same situation with my phone...my mother-in-law's dog got a hold of it and I need a new phone. I was told the same thing, not way in hell I'm paying that much for a phone so I've been using one chewed by a dog...lovely.
