Happy Easter!

A small recap of this weekend at my parents:

Friday:

After the week I had, I was to take the afternoon off. All was going well, until my 9:00 weekly call. All hell broke loose on the call, so needless to say, I didn’t get to leave at 12 like planned. So instead I planned on leaving by 3—that didn’t happen either. I finally got out of the office by 4:30 and on the road to my parents around 5. It never fails when you have plans; you never get to leave on time. I told my parents to go ahead with dinner that I would grab something on the way or when I got into town. They decided to wait for me. Dinner was very pleasant; my parents took me to a new steakhouse. I was too tired to do anything after dinner, so I retired for the night.

Saturday:

Since I did not arrive in town when originally planned, my mother and I went shopping. I was in need of an Easter outfit. We started out in Cullman, found nothing. I did however find an outfit for work. I actually found lots, but retrained myself. Off to Decatur to the mall. I didn’t expect to find anything there, but I had to look. First time in a very long time that I had been shopping in a department store, but first stop was for a pair of shoes. I should have purchase the brown sandals I found as well, but I was being good and staying on track. I ended up finding a lot of clothes for work—I’m trying to expand my wardrobe to more business clothes that can also be dressed down for casual. I did end up finding an Easter outfit—a green seersucker suit jacket, a white pin tuck skirt, and a shell. I love my new green seersucker suit. Overall, the day of shopping was very successful. I am hoping that this will be a start of expanding the wardrobe. Saturday night, I went to see my long time friend. We got to catch up a little bit.

Sunday:

Attended church with my parents. After services, my sister, brother-in-law, and niece were coming for lunch. My niece was a doll. Her dress was too cute, especially when she was playing with her basket full of eggs. She was excited about the eggs. After lunch, I dyed eggs with her. I was impressed that a two-year-old was actually careful with the dye. She was very good. I think next year will be even better. I hid the eggs for her to find. Hiding consists of throwing the eggs on the grass and a couple in the bushes. She wanted to “find eggs”. I have some cute pictures of her.

The weekend was very enjoyable. It was a quiet weekend for once. Although I do wish for a weekend of visiting my parents that did not entitle me having to do something. Next weekend, my sister is having her baby, so I will be there for that.
