Books and memories

Today was very laid back for me. I did not get up as early as I wished, but I did a little cleaning, and spent the rest of the day reading.

I'm trying to knock out most of the books on my list to read. I have a weakness for books. There is somethign about going into a bookstore, and seeing all those books just waiting for me to pick them up. I get lost in my own little world and thoughts when I'm in one. Growing up, I used to go and just sit in the isles among all the books. During the summer months, I would stay up all night reading a couple of books. As soon as I finished one, I would pick up another and start it. I long for those days when I could do that. Memories flood my mind of things I used to do and wish I still did.

As I watch my niece grow up, I hope she has the same type of memories I have of my childhood. One of my earliest memories is me sitting in our old house in the middle of the living room watching Today's Special eating Fruity Pebbles. I was either 2 or 3. It amazes me to watch Emma and try to figure out what she is thinking.

I am hoping I can make myself post my weekly reading list and recommendations. I have just finished a wonderful book that I recommend to everyone. I'll try to post more later about it and others.
